a brief history
I always said that I'd like to be an illustrator - I drew doodles for my Grandfather, I drew doodles for the school magazine, I drew doodles when I was suposed to be studying for my photography degree (at Bournemouth and Poole) and I drew doodles when I was supposed to be a picture editor for Country Life magazine (They very kindly encouraged me). And I've always loved looking at pictures - so picture research is a joy!!
I was one of the Country Life team for six years before a three year stint at the Times Supplements, again as a picture editor. However, the call of the pencil was strong and I left The Times to do a spot of freelance picture editing - but mostly to work for myself as a fully fledged doodler.
I'm from Sheffield, but I've lived in London and Cornwall (where my parents still live) and now I live in Cheshire with my partner, some fish and something small and furry called Wilf.
I have two brothers, one niece and a well stocked food cupboard. I love to hike, camp and to be at one with nature (as long as it doesn't involve taking my clothes off).
And that, as they say, just about wraps it up!
